boAt Xtend watch Detail Review
here we are going to talk in detail about boat watch specification, performance, Build quality, Durability, Pros & Cons, and many more – so let’s begin
Design & Build
When it comes to smartwatches, design is definitely the most important factor. And boAt has proved once again that it can build premium-looking devices with its new Xtend Talk watch. This smartwatch is inspired by Apple Watch 3 and even though the Redmi Smartwatch and Amazfit Bip U Pro also have similar shapes and designs, this one has a much more premium built quality.
When it comes to the color scheme of this boAt Xtend Talk smartwatch, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I really like that it has a sleek and minimalist all-black look, however, on the other hand, I’m not too fond of the gold-colored metallic frame. In my opinion, it makes the watch look a bit cheap and tacky. Additionally, I believe that the gold shade would eventually fade away with extended use. However, these are all my personal opinion!
As far as comfort goes, I found the watch pretty comfortable to wear. It does come with silicon straps that are of good quality. They are surely built to last!
Display
The boat smartwatch has a 42mm square-shaped display with big bezels. However, the screen can go completely black (like an AMOLED panel), so it’d be difficult for one to notice these bezels. Moreover, the screen quality doesn’t feel cheap at all.
But, the boAt Xtend watch seems to miss out on a crucial feature, which is the always-on-display. This feature could prove to be extremely beneficial for sportspersons! You can control the brightness quite easily with up to 12 levels and you’ll also get a screen on time of up to 20 seconds. the boAt Xtend Talk smartwatch has a display that is better than previous smartwatches from the company. The viewing angle is also quite good, and the brightness is sufficient for easy viewing in sunlight. However, the color levels are not as saturated as I would like them to be. But anyway, that’s a bit much to ask at this price point!
UI and Additional Features
The boAt watch has a clean and easy-to-use UI. It comes with a single button that acts as both an on/off button and a back button. The display is the touchscreen, and navigation is quite simple; however, there’s a bit of lag when using the watch.
The lag can be majorly attributed to the lower quality processor that might be used in lieu of cost-cutting. However, again we can’t complain much about it, especially at this price point! As far as fitness tracking goes, this boAt watch is a great choice! It comes with all the features you would expect from a fitness tracker, including a heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, stress tracking, breath tracking, and SpO2 tracking.
There are also 60+ sports modes present on the watch, so you can find one that best suits your needs. I tried a few of them and they all worked great. The watch can also be paired with your smartphone, which will allow you to receive call notifications, messages, and other notifications on the watch itself.
Alexa as Voice Assistant
The in-built Alexa voice assistant is the main highlight of the boat smartwatch. The watch has as a built-in microphone that can be used to access Alexa. To activate it, you just need to long press the back button, and Alexa would get activated!
However, Alexa can do only a few basic tasks like setting alarms, timers, etc. So, personally, I consider this a gimmicky feature. Even if the boat wouldn’t have included it, the smartwatch would do just fine!
boAt Wave App
The boAt Xtend Talk smartwatch is a great addition to any fitness enthusiast’s arsenal. It tracks your heart rate, steps taken, and calories burned throughout the day. But in order to get the most out of it, you need to use the companion app- i.e., the boat Wave app!
The app is available for both Android and iOS devices, and I have used it personally on my iPhone 11. I did not find any major bugs like connectivity problems or even lags in the UI. The only thing that I would say could be improved is the design; it looks a bit dated compared to other apps on my phone. However, barring the design, the app is pretty minimal, clean, and hence easy to use. You can get all fitness tracking-related options as well as several other watch settings right here!
Accuracy
We all know that accuracy is a major concern for budget fitness trackers. We want to make sure that we are getting the most accurate data possible, especially when it comes to our health and fitness.
So, I personally tested the boAt Xtend Talk smartwatch for everything from walking and running, to sleeping and even heart rate monitoring. The results were pretty accurate across the board. Even when compared to other popular brands like Realme or Redmi, its accuracy is on par with them! When compared with the Noise watch, the boAt Xtend watch performs better in tracking stress and SpO2 levels. Additionally, it can also track the menstrual cycle – making it a great choice for women who want to keep tabs on their health and fitness.
Battery
The boAt Xtend Talk smartwatch is a great device with many features. Nevertheless, the battery life leaves much to be desired. The watch comes with a 300mAh battery and the company claims that it can last 10 days.
But if you use heavy features like SpO2 or heart rate monitoring every 30mins or so, the watch will only last 4-5 days at most. You can always keep brightness low to make it last 3-4 days but even then, at this price range battery is Good. As far as charging goes, you can use the magnetic hook charging support that comes in the box. It should easily charge this smartwatch from 0-100% in 2 hours!

Are there any Better Alternatives?
When it comes to the budget smartwatch section, there are a lot of options to consider. But is there really a better alternative to the boat Xtend watch?
Well, it seems there are! For starters, if you want better battery life, let’s say around 6-7 days, you can consider the Amazfit Bip U Pro. It comes with a built-in GPS and a battery that can easily last for 6-7 days on heavy use. However, you’ll have to extend your budget a bit to Rs. 5,000! Amazfit Bip U Pro Smart Watch:- Amazon
If you want a better display, then you can pick the Noise Colorfit Ultra 2 Buzz. It comes with an AMOLED display that peaks out at an MX brightness of 500 nits. Moreover, there’s always that IP68 water resistance. And, what’s even better is that you can grab it for under Rs. 3,500! or you can check boAt Wave Pro47:- Here
Final Verdict
The boAt Xtend Talk smartwatch is a pretty decent smartwatch. It offers all the basic fitness features that you would expect from a good quality smartwatch. The display is clear and bright, Alexa support is great, and the build quality is very good. However, personally, I didn’t impress with the color of the watch! Also, the battery life could little bit better. Barring that, all seem like sunshine and roses. BUT, the price that it comes in makes it even more value for money.
So, we would definitely recommend the boAt Xtend watch if you need a good-budget fitness smartwatch that’d keep you going towards your fitness goals. It offers each and every feature that a budget smartwatch should have!
